Belongings: What We Bring, What We Leave Behind is a community storytelling exhibition exploring migration, memory, and belonging through the meaningful objects people carry across generations. Featuring the voices of immigrants, refugees, migrants, adoptees, and others who have journeyed to new homes, the exhibition invites participants to share treasured belongings and the stories they hold—of family, resilience, loss, hope, and identity. Through objects, photographs, audio, video, and personal narratives, Belongings reveals migration as an enduring human experience that has shaped Petaluma and communities around the world. More than an exhibition, it is an invitation to listen, connect, and discover the shared humanity that binds us across cultures, generations, and time.
