View the festivities from the Museum plaza or lawn. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Your membership must be current and will be verified by Museum staff. \nPlaza Seats: Each member household may reserve a maximum of four seats on the Museum plaza\, while supplies last. Chairs will be provided and seats will be pre-assigned. \nLawn Seating: A limited amount of lawn seating is also available to members. Each section seats 4 people. Each member household may reserve a maximum of one lawn section\, while supplies last. Please bring your own blanket. \nPlease arrive no sooner than 10am. No pre-set up before that time. Note that the Museum facilities will be closed to visitors on parade day. The remainder of the Museum grounds will be available for public viewing of the parade.

Since 2023\, Amy has been the lead investigator of groundbreaking research on the history of slavery in Sonoma County\, California\, in partnership with the Santa Rosa-Sonoma County NAACP. DESCRIPTION:November 8 – November 30\nThurs. – Sunday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.\n20 4th Street (Corner of 4th  and B Streets)\nThe Harry Potter book series features magic that is based partially on Renaissance traditions that played an important role in the development of Western science\, including alchemy\, astrology\, and natural philosophy. Incorporating the work of several 15th- and 16th-century thinkers\, the series examines ethical topics such as the desire for knowledge\, the effects of prejudice\, and the responsibility that comes with power. Informative panels use the collections of the National Library of Medicine to explore Harry Potter’s world and its roots in Renaissance magic\, science\, and medicine. The Museum will add to the exhibition from our own collection of medical artifacts\, botanical journals\, and other objects that would fit right in at Hogwarts!

A passionate advocate for arts education\, she believes in its power to inspire curiosity\, creativity\, and lifelong engagement in young people. \nLisa Zheng\n \nFor Lisa Zheng\, a junior at Maria Carrillo High School\, poetry is an empty Google Doc or a fresh leaf of paper where she can escape the rules of school essays to pour out her rawest experiences. A “word nerd”\, Zheng’s purpose for poetry\, besides personal catharsis\, is giving voice to the psychological turmoils many teens experience that are often hidden due to shame\, in order to give them hope and cause for change. \nAnaya Ertz\n \nAnaya Ertz\, Marin Youth Poet Laureate 2025-2026\, and a senior at Marin Academy\, began writing poetry in 6th grade. For her\, it became a way to process emotion and inspire change. Editor-in-chief of Echoes and a KQED student journalist\, she sees writing as community engagement. Her inspirations include people\, place\, and passions like world history\, Formula 1\, and neuroscience. \n

Ring the historic Korbel Bell\, plus see our historic bridal exhibit\, share a toast\, and make a wish for our country. \nFriday July 4\, 2025\n10:00 – 12:00 P.M.\nOn the steps of the Museum – and afterwards in the museum’s courtyard\nFree\, Please Register\n \nEach year since 1962\, communities across the country gather on July 4th and simultaneously ring bells 13 times to remind us of the original colonies and the principles our country was founded on. The Petaluma Museum will commemorate this annual tradition with choral music \, history\, and the ringing of the historic Korbel Bell. Following the ceremony\, enjoy refreshments and community under the beautiful oak tree in the museum’s courtyard\, and leave your wish for our country on our “wish wall.” \n \nPlus\, be the first to see “I Do\,” our beautiful new exhibit of historic wedding gowns and textiles.
